Serves 2 |
The easiest homecooked filet mignon.

Ingredients:

2 filet mignon steaks
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground peppercorn
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, smashed
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 sprigs fresh thyme

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Coat both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the butter, garlic, rosemary and thyme to an oven safe pan. Bring to medium-high heat. Melt the butter, stirring frequently.
  3. Add the steaks to the hot pan. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, spooning the hot butter over the steaks.
  4. Transfer the pan to the oven and cook for 5-15 minutes, depending on preferred doneness.
