Apple and Spicy Cheddar Sandwich

Serves 1 sandwich | 
Combines savory flavors with Autumn vibes.

Ingredients:

2 slices sourdough bread
1 slice sharp cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons pickled jalapenos
2 tablespoons grainy Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 Honeycrisp apple, sliced thin
1/4 red onion, sliced
1 cup arugula

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to broil. Arrange two slices of sourdough bread on a baking sheet. Broil them on high for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned and crisp. Remove from oven.
  2. Flip the bread and place the slice of sharp cheddar cheese on one of the bread slices. Broil for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Remove from the oven.
  3. Place the jalapenos on top of the cheese.
  4. Spread the Dijon mustard on the other slice of bread. Then drizzle with honey.
  5. Layer on the Honeycrisp apple, red onion, and fresh arugula to both slices.
  6. Place the slices together to close the sandwich. Slice in half and enjoy!
