Easy Mongolian Beef

Serves 4 | 
A sweet and spicy classic.

Ingredients:

1 lb. flank steak, sliced very thin, cut in 2" strips
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons peanut oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon minced ginger
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Prepared rice, for serving

Directions:

  1. Marinate the flank steak in a mixture of the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice wine, cornstarch, and sugar for about 1 hour.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the peanut oil on medium-high. Add the garlic, ginger, and pepper seeds and stir fry a minute or so.
  3. Add the meat and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Serve with rice.
Course: Dinner
