Crispy and Cheesy Garlic Parmesan Focaccia Bread

Serves 1 loaf |
Crispy on the edges, fluffy in the middle.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups warm water
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
4 cups flour
1/4 cup olive oil, more for greasing
2 teaspoons kosher salt
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
- Combine the warm water and sugar in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle active dry yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Then add the flour, olive oil, and kosher salt to the mixing bowl. Stir until a sticky dough forms. Cover with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for 60-90 minutes, until about double in size.
- Pour a small amount of olive oil into a baking pan. Use a paper towel to coat the pan with the olive oil. Transfer the dough to the pan.
- Create dimples in the dough with your fingertips. Sprinkle the minced garlic, grated Parmesan over the top. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Place the pan in the oven. Bake the bread for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
