Dutch Apple Pie

Serves 8 |
Homemade pie made super simple.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 egg, beaten |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 cup sour cream |
2 cups chopped peeled Gala apples |
1 pie shell, 9 inches |
For Streusel Topping: |
1/3 cup flour |
1/3 cup packed brown sugar |
2 tablespoons cold butter |
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375° F.
- In a large bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and salt. Stir in the egg, vanilla and sour cream until smooth. Add apples; mix well. Pour into piecrust.
- Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325° F and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- To make streusel topping, combine 1/3 cup flour and 1/3 cup brown sugar in a small bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly; sprinkle topping over pie. Bake 20 minutes longer or until filling is bubbly and topping is browned.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.
