Gingersnap Pear Crisp

A fun and tasty way to enjoy fresh pears for dessert.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups gingersnap cookies, crumbled
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
3 fresh pears, halved
1 tablespoon lemon juice
vanilla ice cream, for serving

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F
  2. In a bowl, mix together gingersnap cookie crumbs, brown sugar, salt and melted butter.
  3. Place half of the crumb mixture into a buttered, 8" round baking dish.
  4. Arrange pears on the crumb layer, cut side up; sprinkle with lemon juice and remaining crumb mixture.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
