Ahi Tuna is a Big Catch
Bianchini’s Lenten Seafood Festival continues with an all-around favorite among seafood lovers, Ahi Tuna. Also known as yellowfin tuna, Ahi is lean with
a mild, rich flavor and firm yet buttery texture. Prized for its vibrant red and pinkish color, especially when fresh. Ahi is an excellent source of healthy omega-3s and is a good source of lean protein. For all the trophy fishers out there, did you know that Ahi tuna can grow up to 400 pounds? Talk about a big catch! And can be found within the subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Ahi is a highly versatile fish when it comes to cooking. It’s frequently enjoyed rare when prepared for sushi, sashimi, and poke, but it’s equally delicious when lightly seared and served as a filet like a premium steak. Enjoy Manischewitz this Passover
The Jewish holiday of Passover is set to begin the evening of Saturday, April 12th, and end on Sunday, April 20th. This springtime celebration combines themes of family, remembrance of Jewish history, and the Jewish homeland. Bianchini’s proudly features a selection of Manischewitz Passover products. Founded by Rabbi Dov Behr Manischewitz in 1888 when he opened a small Matzo bakery in Cincinnati, Ohio. His goal was to feed the growing needs of the community through traditional Jewish foods. After some tinkering, Rabbi Dov Behr Manischewitz created the world’s first square matzo and a large-scale matzo-making machine. These innovations lead Manischewitz to become the first fully automated Kosher matzo production facility. Manischewitz is now the leading provider of Jewish cuisine, helping create family memories in the kitchen and at the table with their delectable Kosher foods. Stop into Bianchini’s this week to find an assortment of Manischewitz and other delicious Passover staples.

Duke’s Has Twang!
It’s easy to see why Duke’s Mayonnaise has such a loyal following. It was rated Best Overall Mayonnaise by Food & Wine Magazine in a taste comparing over 30 store-bought brands. The South Carolina-based mayo has a signature flavor that keeps people coming back time. Thanks to its higher egg yolk content, touch of paprika and combination of distilled and cider vinegars, Duke’s mayonnaise is thicker and creamier without being sticky, it’s not too rich, not too sweet, it’s got twang! Duke’s story begins in 1917, when Eugenia Duke was making sandwiches using her own mayonnaise recipe and sold them to the soldiers stationed at Fort Sevier in Greenville, South Carolina. The popularity of her sandwiches convinced Eugenia to expand her sandwich business by selling to local drugstores and grocery stores. By 1923, her focus was solely on bottling Duke’s mayonnaise. For over 100 years, Duke’s has been a staple in many kitchens, enjoyed in everything from sandwiches to salads. Bring home a jar of Duke’s today.

New York-style Boichik Bagels
We are ending Frozen Food Month with the always “cool” Boichik Bagels. Founder Emily Winston was born and raised in New Jersey. Enjoying New York bagels for many years. When Emily moved to the Bay Area in 2010, finding an authentic New York-style bagel was near impossible. Determined to recreate the unmistakable taste and quality of a New York bagel, Emily spent five years of trial and error trying to create the perfect recipe. Starting as a pop-up, Boichik quickly became a hit and in November of 2019, the first brick and mortar location opened its doors, with more locations opening shortly afterward. Today you can find Boichik Bagels in your local Bianchini’s freezer section. And enjoying them is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply take out of the freezer, pop one in the toaster and spread on your favorite topping.

Catch of the Day – Rainbow Trout
Bianchini’s Lenten Seafood Festival is going strong. This week we are featuring delicious rainbow trout. This versatile fish delivers incredible taste, texture and flexibility in cooking. Described as having a mild, delicate, almost sweet flavor with slight nutty, buttery undertones. And a tender, flaky texture that lends itself nicely to baking, frying, smoking and even grilling. Rainbow trout get their name from their beautiful coloring. Typically, their body ranges from olive green to brown with a pinkish band that runs the length of their middle, a silver underside that fades to pearl white, and small black spots on their back, fins and tail. And since Rainbow trout belong to the salmon family, they are a good source of hearty healthy omega-3’s. Check out our trout recipe collection to find easy dinnertime options.
