Homemade Red Velvet Popcorn

A delightful alternative when looking for something other than traditional sweets.

Ingredients:

22 oz white chocolate chips
8 cups popcorn, (popped, 2 bags of microwave or 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
1 tablespoon shortening
3 cups red velvet cake, (small bits)

Directions:

  1. Pop popcorn, remove unpopped kernels and transfer to large bowl.
  2. Combine and melt shortening and white chocolate chips in a double boiler.
  3. Drizzle melted chocolate mixture over the top of the popcorn. Stir together until evenly coated.
  4. Add red velvet cake bits to bowl, stir until well mixed.
  5. Let chocolate set before serving.
Course: Dessert
