Cheddar Jalapeno Chicken Burgers with Guacamole

The right balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lb ground chicken
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 jalapeno, chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 cup chopped white onion
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Prepared guacamole, for topping
Hamburger buns

Directions:

  1. Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil.
  2. Place the ground chicken in a large mixing bowl. Add the shredded cheddar, jalapeno, cilantro, garlic, onion, lime juice, paprika, Kosher salt, cumin and black pepper. Mix until thoroughly blended. Shape into four burger patties.
  3. Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and allow to sit for 3 minutes before serving.
  4. Place the burger patties on the bottom buns. Spoon guacamole over the burger and place the top bun on to complete the burger.
