Cheddar Jalapeno Chicken Burgers with Guacamole





Serves 4 |
The right balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb ground chicken |
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1 jalapeno, chopped |
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro |
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped |
1/2 cup chopped white onion |
1 tablespoon lime juice |
1 teaspoon paprika |
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt |
1 teaspoon ground cumin |
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper |
Prepared guacamole, for topping |
Hamburger buns |
Directions:
- Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil.
- Place the ground chicken in a large mixing bowl. Add the shredded cheddar, jalapeno, cilantro, garlic, onion, lime juice, paprika, Kosher salt, cumin and black pepper. Mix until thoroughly blended. Shape into four burger patties.
- Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and allow to sit for 3 minutes before serving.
- Place the burger patties on the bottom buns. Spoon guacamole over the burger and place the top bun on to complete the burger.
