Butter Garlic Shrimp Scampi

|1/2 cup unsalted butter |
|1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
|4 cloves garlic, minced |
|1 shallot, diced |
|1 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined |
| Salt, to taste |
| Ground black pepper, to taste |
|1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice |
|2 teaspoons lemon zest |
|3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley |
- Place butter in a large skillet and bring to medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add red pepper flakes, minced garlic and diced shallots. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes.
- Add shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Drizzle lemon juice over shrimp and sprinkle lemon zest and parsley. Stir together well.
- Transfer shrimp scampi to serving plates and enjoy!
