Cheesy Bacon Pasta

A yummy and easy dinnertime entree.

Ingredients:

3 1/4 teaspoons salt
12 oz penne pasta
4 teaspoons flour
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cups finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 slices center-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan combine flour and 1/2 cup milk over medium heat; warm. Gradually add 1 cup milk and bring to a boil. Once at a boil continue cooking for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat; let stand 4 minutes. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt, onions, hot sauce, pepper, and bacon, add pasta; stir well.
  3. Spoon into a 2-quart broiler-safe dish coated with cooking spray; top with 1/2 cup cheese. Broil for 7 minutes.
  4. Remove from broiler and let cool slightly before serving.
