Crispy Pan Fried Catfish

Restaurant quality made at home.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup cornmeal
4 catfish fillets
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup corn oil
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper and cayenne. Dip the catfish fillets in the flour mixture. Coat both sides evenly.
  2. Pour corn oil into a large skillet, turn to high heat. Once hot reduce heat to medium and arrange the fish fillets in the skillet. Cook for 3 minutes. Turn and cook the other side for an additional 3 minutes (Until golden brown)
  3. Remove the fried catfish from the skillet, place on serving plates.
Cooking Method: Pan-Fry
