Italian BLT Sandwich

Serves 4 |
A classic sandwich that's surprisingly easy to assemble.
Ingredients:
1/2 Italian bread loaf |
1/4 cup Italian dressing |
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded |
1/2 cup mustard |
1/2 cup mayonnaise |
1/2 lb Genoa salami, thinly sliced |
1/2 lb mortadella, thinly sliced |
4 slices provolone cheese |
Romaine lettuce, rinsed and dried |
3 plum tomatoes, rinsed, dried and sliced |
8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and cut in half |
Directions:
- Cut bread diagonally into 8 slices and arrange on a baking sheet.
- Brush bread slices evenly with Italian dressing and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 375° F until lightly toasted, about 5 to 6 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine mustard and mayonnaise; spread mixture evenly onto un-toasted side of bread.
- Layer 4 bread slices (mustard mixture side up) with salami, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato and bacon slices. Top with remaining 4 bread slices, mustard side down and enjoy.
